Contact with different roles and their activity feed
SOLVE
We have a contact who has a role as a customer. As such they have an email address associated with activities, deals and a company.
What do you do when concurrently that contact becomes a customer with a second company, a different email address, but same phone number.
Our solution: At present we created a new contact with same name different email and same phone number.
Our outcome: But all activity appear in both records. We want only the emails and deals associated with new company to appear for this contact with their new email address.
Our judgement: Not a great solution, we would love some advice on this.
You've done the right thing to create 2 contacts - one for each company. Emails should automatically only attach to the contact with the relevant email. But also note that you when you log any activity - for example a call or email - you can select which records you associate it with. So for this unique case where you have a single contact at 2 companies - you can update the relevant assoicated objects.
