Quick contact property question. Does the contact assigned date - update the date when the owner is changed?

Hi, Have we managed to find out if when filtering by owner assigned date it will show the latest owner assigned not the original?

HubSpot auto-updates the Owner Assigned Date whenever the owner changes via the UI. We suspect that's also true when re-assigning via the API, but have not verified.
