Conditional Formatting on Creation Card

SOLVE

We are needing to create conditional formatting for a property that will need to be filled out at a later date, and not during creation. But this conditional formatting shows on the creation card. So it is asking the company creator to enter in information on the creation card that is unknown until later in the process.

Can we remove the conditional formatting from showing on the creation card, while still leaving the dependent property?

For example:

Dependent Property = "Type"  and when "Golf Course" is selected.

Conditional Properties = "Number of golf course holes" and  "Number of converted golf course holes".

We do not want the "number of converted golf course holes" to show on the creation card, as this is later in the process. BUT we do need the "Type" to be on there, as there are other options than Golf Course.

We do not want to create Custom Views, where we can select certain properties because there are only a select number of properties in a long list that are different based on "Type".

I hope that makes sense, thank you for your help!

Hi @SBrooks10,

No, that's unfortunately not possible and not how conditional logic works in HubSpot: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/properties/set-up-conditional-logic-for-enumeration-properties

Once set up, it's enforced the entire HubSpot CRM. There are not options to exclude the create form.

If it becomes relevant only later in the process, and you're referring to a deal pipeline, you could make this a required property for a specific deal stage. This might require a helping workflow and custom property. If you share a bit more context as to when exactly this property should be filled ('not during creation' is not specific enough) and which object we're talking about, I can elaborate.

Conditional Formatting on Creation Card

SOLVE

Thank you Karsten.

This is specifically for Company records, and what I mean by "not during creation" is that the company record will be created as a Lead, and then as we work with that Company, we will obtain new additional information about them that we need on the record.

i.e. a Golf Course is entered as a Company, as a Lifecycle Stage of "Lead". What has been requested is that after they complete a Deal, the Company becomes a "Customer", and we need to enter valuable data, such as the "Number of Course Holes Converted".

We could add this property to the Deal, and then mirror it into the Company record, but there will likely be more than one Deal.

Hope that helps, thank you!

Conditional Formatting on Creation Card

@SBrooks10 if there's more than one deal and the number is identical, that wouldn't be an issue then. What if it's different? Shouldn't it update the company and overwrite it then anyway? At a first glance, that makes a required deal stage property seen like the best solution to me, copied to the company via workflow.

Conditional Formatting on Creation Card

In addition to this, how can we make it so that the conditional properties only appear on the left side if they meet the dependent properties criteria.

i.e.

Dependent Property = "Type"  and when "Golf Course" is selected.

Conditional Properties Now Show on Left Side = "Number of golf course holes" and  "Number of converted golf course holes".

And if:

Dependent Property = "Type"  and when "Dealer" is selected.

Conditional Properties Now Show on Left Side = "Number of locations" and  "Dealer Classification".

We do not want all the conditional properties to show on all Company "Types", only ones that pertain to that type. Or is the only option to add a card view with conditional display logic based on "Type"?
