Closed Won deals moving to Closed Lost automatically
SOLVE
Hi, I have automated workflows depending on the deal stage and we have been flagged by our Sales team that some of the deals that have been tagged as Closed Won are moving to Closed Lost without advise or triggers.
Has anyone encountered this problem yet? If so, what are the suggested fixes?
Workflows in HubSpot will do exactly what you told them, without questioning it. If you didn't specify that won deals shouldn't be updated, the workflow is stupid in the sense that it won't notice itself that a closed won deal should maybe not be moved to the stage it was moved to.
You can prevent this by limiting the enrollment criteria of that workflow:
"AND Deal stage is none of Closed won"
There might be more to this, I haven't seen the workflow. Make sure to review the entire thing or share a screenshot of all steps and all settings.

I see that. However, it was already tagged as Closed Won on June 8 prior to it going back to the Initial Outreach stage on June 9. Should there be other parameters set to avoid this? I see there are previoous stages where the deal has been rejected on the sales/finance team's end - could that have affect the way this workflow should work?

Can you open one of those deal records, hover over the Deal stage field in the left sidebar, click Details and share a screenshot of what the right sidebar shows?

You can see the workflow that has moved the deal to "Closed inactive" linked (in blue) in the history 🙂 This is the workflow you'd have to update if it's not doing what you'd it to do.
