Change type of custom contact property

SOLVE

Hello,

I created a custom contact property as a "dropdown select".  The "dropdown select" allows one field to be selected.  Having populated virtually all contacts with the field I now realize I should have used a "multiple checkbox" because I need some contacts to have two of the possible selections.

I find that I am unable to change the select type from "dropdown select" to "mutiple checkbox".

Is there a workaround that would allow me to do this?

Thanks

Hi @jfd118,

My recommendation would be to export your contact list including the data populated in that property. Create a new property using multi-checkbox and re-upload, populating that field.  After which you can delete your old field.

If you want to import multiple values into a multi-checkbox field using an import, start your data in the field with a semi-colon and separate the values with semi-colons as well. Here's an article on that.

Please let me know if you have any questions about this. Happy to walk you through it.
