When our company started working with HubSpot, they didn't pay attention to separate companies and contacts properly. Now, we have a lot of contacts and endconsumers created as companies. This is becoming more and more of an issue.
So I'm wondering if there's a possibility to change companies into contacts, without loosing linked data, like deals, conversations, notes, etc.
There is unfortunately not, no. Suggesting an exact course of action is tricky without having a full overview of your CRM landscape. However, a solution will likely involve exporting companies, and reimporting them as contacts while associating them to the already existing records.
This will of course result in duplicates and the exact import and association order requires careful planning to avoid even more unnecessary duplicates.
After doing this, existing records would have to be cleaned up and deduplicated.
The details, as mentioned above, depend a lot on how bad it is, which volume of records we're talking about, which automation is potentially set up, which association settings are enabled.
In any case, there unfortunately isn't any quick fix.
