Challenges with company domain/email addresses and contacts.

Hi there,

I can't imagine we're the only one with this issue. In HubSpot, company domain addresses are used to create/identify the company record, associate contacts etc. etc. However, our customer base is largely made up of small business or solopreneurs, many of whom use gmail, and yahoo email addresses or similar, and may use Facebook pages as their websites, if they have a web presense at all. So, HubSpot get's confused and we get stuck.

In another scenario, we have some franchise clients, who all use the same domain, but identify their unique location after the domain, for example www.mycompany.com/mylocation. Again, HubSpot can't handle that.

Right now, I can't use the automatic creation of Companies and Associate contacts with them. We have over 80,000 contacts, and nearly 4,000 of them are not associated with their comany record.

Does anyone else have this issue, and if so, how are you managing this?

Was anyone able to find a solution for company domain matching on the company object for solopreneurs and entrepreneurs that don't use a custom domain?
