Can contact be locked while working on it?

resolver

We receive many contacts by API, and they have Contact Owner - Unassigned.

A team of agents then open the contacts one-by-one to work on them. Is there a way to prevent two people working on a contact at the same time? Or at least flag that someone else already has that contact open?

Hi @MStevenson8,

Yes, this is possible via user permissions: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/settings/edit-user-permissions

To achieve it, you would limit record access: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/settings/hubspot-user-permissions-guide#object-access

From what you described, you could update the edit permissions of the users to Owned only + Unassigned:

Once a contact is assigned to someone else, a user would lose edit access.
