Can I populate the selection property options from the list of contacts or companies?

When I create a new deal, task or anything that can and should be associated with a contact or company, I would like to be able to populate the list of options from a filtered list of contact or companies, but I don't know how to do that. Actually I want to be able to create the list on the fly from a filtered list of any object type.

Is there such an option?

I have an issue in that we need to associate a partner contact to every deal so we can report back to the partner company on the number of deals each of their staff have taken on. In addition, we are able to look up the partner contact and see all the deals they have been involved with.
The issue is the partner emails. Any emails we have with that partner contact (we may be discussing Deal 'A' is logged to every deal that partner is associated to, that is open at the time).

We have conducted multiple training sessions with the sales staff on how to ensure a copy of the partner email is only copied to the deal the email is about (not to every deal that partner contact is associated to that is currently open), however, there is no way to automate this without manual intervention.

Ideally - we'd like a workflow feature or a rule we can set where if a contact has a specific label (which we add 'partner on deal' to the partner contact associated to the deal), and there is an email sent to multiple contacts including the contact with the tag, ignore the contact with the label. Only save the email to open deals the other contacts in the email are associated with.

This could also be a rule set based on contacts associated to multiple deals - do not save copies of emails to deals for contacts that are associated to mutiple deals. A copy of the email will save to the deal because the prospect contact was included on the email.

Just to confirm, when you're creating a record and you're adding associations, you want the associations dropdown / field to not pull from all available records but a list narrowed down by your criteria?

If so, this is unfortunately not possible. I'm not aware of workarounds either; HubSpot will show all records here that are visible to a user.

That would be great and my dream solution, but the minimum solution would
be to have all contacts/companies/(list of records of a certain object
type) to select from.

The specific use case is that I need to relate a Deal to one or
more Contacts.

Is there a way to do this?

In the record create form, what you're trying to do is not possible unfortunately.
