I have a workflow that is creating a new deal in another pipeline based on the state of an existing deal. I see options to copy most items over to the new deal except Line Items. Is it possible to copy Line Items from one deal to another?
Another option, you could leverage something like Zapier that requires less developer expertise using the Create Line Item and Create Associations steps.
Zapier allows a user to input varying values.
Here's a longer video (~14min) breaking down a similar use case using a workflow and zap to achieve the desired outcome of retrieving line items from quotes in HubSpot with Zapier.
I'm John, co-founder of a few HubSpot apps (including CloneNer). We've built a simple app to copy line items from one deal to another. Want to try it for free? I'd love your feedback! - DM me please or reach out via Linkedin or our website.
I believe this app can simplify what complex workflows do. Your sales rep can copy line items to another deal in just three clicks—right from the deal they're working on.
P.S. The app is in beta and not yet available on the marketplace.
Hi, There is a an App on HubSpot called 'Add Line Item to Deal' you can try this app for free and there is access to make a workflow which will copy over the previous deals line items during creation.
Just curious — what if there were a simple, fast, and clear app that could:
Open the deal with the line items you want to clone,
Navigate to the app,
Select the line items from a list (using checkboxes),
Choose a destination deal, and
Enjoy!
The proposed solution seems to work well. However, you’ll need to have the workflow feature available and set up properly. This contrasts with a simple app that picks the line items and clones/copies them to the new deal seamlessly.
Hi @JohnMaret, I am not familiar with an app to do this. In the situation you described, I would recommend leveraging products. Think of products as line items you want to use regularly. As products, you'd navigate to the 'new' deal, associate line items on the right and select from the product library. When a product is utilized in a deal, for example, it becomes a line item.
"I am not familiar with an app to do this"... probably because I haven’t created it yet 😉. I’ve built CloneNer and recently LineNer, but this could also be a great app idea—simple, yet effective

We've been wanting this feature for a while now. Anytime a deal closes, we want to create a renewal deal using a workflow that copies over the exact same line items.
It would be great when creating a record, it gives us a tick box or option to copy over the line items from the deal enrolled into the workflow. This would save a lot of time for the Sales Team who manage the deal records and reduce the time spent on admin.
This is a much-needed feature! We do create renewal deals and sometimes there are absolutely no changes in the contract terms for the renewal deal in which case it would be ideal to just copy over the same line items from the previous deal to the new deal through a workflow (best case) or even if we're able to clone the line items associated to a deal and add it to another deal that would save so much time

Can I copy Line Items from one deal to another?
SOLVE
Hi everyone,
Looking for an alternative solution to this type of problem, we have published in the HubSpot marketplace "Add Line Item to Deal" app. The app adds a new deal-based workflow action that enables you to dynamically include a line item in an already existing deal.
In your case, you can create a workflow that adds the same line item to each deal that will be enrolled in the automation.
This workflow action grants users the capability to insert the following fields in the associated product:
- SKU of the product to add - product’s quantity - line item price - currency list (USD, EUR, GBP, etc.)
Try it and send us a feedback! We're constantly working on new features for this app, every feedback would be very helpful.
We need this as well! When we have subscription deals, it would be great to be able to copy the line items from the previous deal over to the new deal so its ready for our sales team to work on. This options gives them insights on the line item that was close and also be able to upsell for the following year.
Thank you for reaching out; that is a great suggestion and I appreciate you explaining how it would help you out. Currently, our product team reviews all feature requests submitted via the Ideas Forum. I highly encourage you to submit this feature and upvote these related ideas which @TitiCuisset and @suziedugger linked in the thread:
I am running into a similar issue. I want to create a subscription pipeline where we track recurring revenue once a deal is won. So I would need to copy the line items over to the new deal in the subscription pipeline.
I think I found a workaround though. Now that it is possible to create line items via deal workflows (this was just released yesterday) I will set it up in this way: - Will add a new dropdown field that indicates the exact subscription that was purchased
- Once a deal is won with Product X it will:
1. Create a new deal in subscription pipeline and copy the dropdown field to the new deal
2. This dropdown field then enrolls the subscription deal into a new workflow that automatically adds the line items for the product.
I haven't tried it yet (as I need to wait for my client) but I see no way why this wouldn't work.
Has there been any update on this? I have set up a workflow for my renewal pipeline but cant seem to find how to also copy specific or even any line items across to the new record. It is pretty essential for us to have this feature
I'm nudging this one too. We create renewal deals and want to inherit line items from the original. I know this is possible with Custom Code in workflows- does anyone have a working example to share?
Hi @AlexBril - no I have not found it yet and it feels like whilst the functionality is there, many are still exploring how it works. If/when I get a solution, I will let you know.
Thanks for replying @sdehoogh . Yeah, we are still figuring out the best way to handle these situations. Great if you found out and would contact again. Will do the same when we have a breakthrough.
