CSV Import - Can't distinguish between entries that have similar Second Level Domains

Assume two divisions of the same company with the following domain names:

www.samplesecondaryleveldomain/carsdivision.com

www.samplesecondaryleveldomain/trucksdivision.com

When I try to update one of them under the 'Companies' tab via a csv upload, it seems that because the secondary level domain (bolded above) is the same string in each case, I'm unable to do so. It's as if the update script reads the same base URL and stops short because it doesn't know which record to select. Clearly if it parsed the entire domain string, it would find the difference.

Is there a solution to this issue?

Cheers,

Jason

Hey @Artsparkr, the HubSpot CRM deduplicates records based on their base domain not their subdomain. If you want to associate records to separate companies that share the same base domain you will need to turn of automatic associaton and manually associate.

Thanks for the response. If this feature is turned off however then am I able to update information via a csv upload? Will Hubspot be able to find the unique URL in the csv and match it to the unique URL stored in the system (server side)?
