Looking for a way to change email addresses in bulk when a company is rebranded or acquired and needs to change names and domain. Changing the domain for the company is easy, but going through and editing all 50-100 contacts is quite a pain.
Your best and easiest option would to filter/find these contact, export them, making the change in Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel and then re-importing them. In HubSpot, there is not bulk editing option and workflows cannot achieve this (at least not without custom code).
Here are the steps you'd have to take:
1. Create a list or a filtered view of all contacts you want to update, filter by, e.g. "Email domain contains any of acme.com"
2. Export this list or view into Google Sheets or Excel, making sure the Contact ID and Email are included in the export file as a column
3. If there are more columns than then two just mentioned, remove them from the spreadsheet
4. Update the email domain with search and replace, e.g. replace "@acme.com" with "@acme.net"
5. Import the contact file and select to update contacts based on the Contact ID column (this is important as otherwise HubSpot will simply create a new contact based on the new email address)
HubSpot will now, based on the Contact ID, update the contacts in their place with the new email address.
Hope this helps!

If you want to request this, the best place to do so would be the HubSpot Ideas section of the community. This section is actually monitored by the product team.
If you consider this thread answered in the sense that there's a workaround and unfortunately not a native solution, you can close the thread by accepting my earlier post as a solution. I'd appreciate it!

@karstenkoehler this is a great workaround, and I will note this for future use. I am going to leave this request open though as I believe this should be something available natively in Hubspot.
If you, or anyone else knows the custom coding needed that would be much appreciated as well so that maybe Hubspot devs could just copy the solution. Thanks
