Best practice to capture supplier information for each Deal
SOLVE
Hello,
I was hoping someone could help with my issue on capturing supplier information for Deals.
When I secure a deal with a customer, there are multiple suppliers involved to get the final product to the customer. Depending on the deal, sometimes it could be 1 supplier involved, or sometimes it can be upto 4 suppliers involved.
For each supplier, I would want to be able to capture the Supplier Name and the Supplier Cost.
I was hoping to be able to create some sort of multi-checkbox where I could simply select the suppliers from a drop-down menu and then enter in the cost beside each selected supplier however I do not think this is possible.
The only way I see it just now is I create individual deal properties for each Supplier and enter in the cost for each one if needed. Only problem with this is we have many suppliers so the list will be large and would take up a lot of the screen sections which will look messy.

Hi @Bobej this is a perfect use case for Custom Objects, you could have a Supplier custom object that you associate to the deal, containing that supplier's information - with as many associated as you need.
Custom Objects require an Enterprise subscription - it can be any hub, and with the most recent price changes the lowest barrier to entry is a single seat of Service Hub. I'm not sure if that's an option, but it would be worth exploring what would be best with your HubSpot CSM.
Otherwise, the workaround you're proposing with unique properties could work, it just wouldn't scale very easily and could lead to errors.
If my reply answered your question please mark it as a solution to make it easier for others to find.
