Automated solution searched: When mail answerd via inbox, also assign activity to company
SOLVE
I'm in tech support in my company, and when I begin a new support ticket task, I always first look into the affected customer's company, to get an overview about everything that happened in the last weeks. So I don't miss some notes or conversations from my colleagues, to prevent double-work.
The problem is, that often some conversation answers are not visible in the company but only in the contact. That is because if a colleague answers directly out of the inbox, Hubspot has the unpractical issue to only assign this mail to the contact, not to the (primary) company.
Myself, I never answer right out of the inbox to prevent this issue. When answering out of the CRM, it always automatically assigns this mail also to the company - as it should be.
I hope you understood what I mean.
Now, I look for a solution to this problem.
Is it possible to make a workflow to automatically assign every conversation activity to the primary company?
As far as I know, there is not such setting exist in HubSpot that can prevent this and even the workflow won't support any direct associations for email activities. But you can try a custom-coded solution using the HubSpot API that can look for new contact activities and associate them with the corresponding company. But this would require a developers help. Since you are already avoid replying from the inbox, encourage your team members to adopt the same practice. This may not fully solve the problem, but it still can help.
