Auto-populating Workflow - Company Name + Contact Info

SOLVE

Goal - Auto-populate the "Company Name" field on the Contact Record > "About this contact" section when the "Company Record" is known and has the Company Name present.

 

I've created this workflow but having run it, it's not updated the contact Company Name field as I'd hoped.

Hi @PNeill1,

 

There are two ways to design this workflow and this one is a bit of mix, hence probably not working correctly.

 

Option 1

Contact-based workflow, makes sense if you don't expect company names to ever change and don't require re-enrollment.

  1. Enroll contacts 'When filter criteria is met' → "Company name is unknown AND Contact is associated to Primary Company where Company name is known"
  2. Use 'Edit record' workflow action to set the enrolled contact's "Company name" to the value of the associated primary company record

 

Option 2

Company-based workflow, makes sense if you always want the company record's value to overwrite the value of all associated contacts.

  1. Enroll companies 'When filter criteria is met' → "Company Name is known AND Number of associated contacts is known"
  2. Enable re-enrollment for both of the above criteria
  3. Use 'Edit record' workflow action to set the company name of all associated records to the value of the company name of the enrolled company

 

Both options, when you turn the workflow on, should update either the contacts missing a company name (option 1) or all associated contacts (option 2).

SOLVE

Hi @PNeill1 this might be an issue with the new Workflows interface. if you notice, you have added the trigger criterias on the unenrollment conditions. Remove these and click on the trigger box.
