Great News everyone this is actually now in BETA. Check it out.
What is it?
HubSpot now automatically saves property edits made on the CRM index page.
Why does it matter?
This feature streamlines data entry by reducing clicks and automatically saving information, increasing efficiency and minimizing data loss for CRM users.
How does it work?
When users edit properties on the index page, they no longer need to click ‘Save’. Instead, they’ll see a ‘Save’ status notification at the bottom-left of the screen, indicating when changes are saved.
If you need to undo a property edit, you can click ‘undo’ within the save status component. You can undo your most recent change.

In case anyone hasn't seen, it looks like this has been addressed. There is a post where they describe how to get a toggle to opt out of the auto-save. Just wanted to circle back to this group in case anyone else, like me, hadn't seen this.
The idea behind the feature is great, but it now completely slows down the process! like ten times! a simple task of sorting data once a week for 200 new contacts would take me 15 mins, today I have done almost nothing in the same time! it is frustrating. as the autosave takes time to think before autosaving, so you cannot move on to the next contact quickly. Is there a timeline for having this sped up, or an option to opt out of the autosave?
How can we disable this autosave feature? It saves too fast and doesn't give time to verify information before saving, often saving incorrect information.
Great, but also very frustrating - it saves too quickly before I’ve finished updating all the details for a contact. Since I have an automated flow that moves the contact to another list when I change the lead status, I then have to go into that list to complete the updates.
In my case, I’d prefer manual saving. Is that still possible?
From my understanding, if you choose to opt out of the beta, you can still save it in your times. However, I strongly encourage you to consider sharing your feedback and experiences from the beta. This is exceptionally valuable to the product development team, as it allows them to identify areas for improvement and optimize the experience for all users. Your feedback is key to the platform's growth!

I love that we have this feature now, One bit of feedback from my team is that whenever they are working their call lists from the contacts page, when they make a change it refreshes pretty fast. So when the update lead status it will be removed from the page all together very fast and there is other things they want to change. I also had a issue where I was changing the contact owner for several contacts and since it was refreshing so fast, I would start typing the name of the owner and then it would refresh from the last change I made and undo my typing. So I had to either wait for the last change to refresh before starting the next one or select the right person super fast before it refreshed.
we are now pushing 5 years since this was submitted, with 56 upvotes, no reply at all @hubspot !! Please save us, and our teams from having to re-type anything we accidentally back out of in any record!
OMG yes! I've lost data so many times I can't count them. This is the only app I'm aware of that prompts you to save changes, but won't alert you when you're going to close a record without saving. Crazy.
lol, Hubspot community autosaved the message I typed last time and did not submit. My main problem is the inconsistency. Some places it does automatically saves information, some places it doesn't. This is the reason we, especially the older team members are losing data. Can anyone from the HubSpot give us an update on this?
The autosave release has been a travesty due to workflows and automations triggering based on the autosave of a property when the property isn't completely filled out (think of multiline text properties). Most of the above solutions you have listed that include autosave don't have downstream impact with automations, therefore autosave is not impactful on the business.
