Auto Fill Contact properties

SOLVE

Is there a way to auto fill some of the new contact's properties based on the properties in the Company record?  For example, when I add a new contact, I want to address, city, state, zip and phone number to automatically fill in based on the company record I am in when I create a new contact.  I appreciate your thoughts.

Hi @MClifton

You can do that via workflows if you have a Professional or Enterprise subscription.

You'd simply enrol contacts where the associated company is known and copy the necessary properties from the company to the contact record.

Hope that helps.

Auto Fill Contact properties

SOLVE

Hey @MClifton, great question!

By default, what is entered into the company record will not automatically carry over to associated contact records (and vice-versa). However, you can share data between records if you build an automated workflow (requires at least a Professional HubSpot susbcription).

You can create a company workflow to copy pretty much any company property to the contacts associated with the company (using the "Copy property value" step for a company workflow or the "Copy company property value" step for a contact workflow). As long as you have a matching property at the contact level (including matching internal values if you're using a dropdown or multi-select property), you can tell HubSpot to copy over values once they become known.

Just in case it's helpful, you should make sure that you have the "fill contact details from emails with HubSpot AI" box checked under Settings > OBjects > Contacts > Setup tab:

That may help you further complete contact records based on the info they provide in their email signatures and such!

Hope this helps!!
