Associating 'services' with 'companies'

SOLVE

I'm trying to create a method for associating 'services' with 'companies'.

Eg:

Company A: Has Service 1 and Service 2

Company B: Has Service 2 and Service 5

Company C: Has Service 1, Service 3 and Service 4

The goal is to easily see and segment companies depending on what service they already have with us.

All service costs are unique.

What's the best way to do this in Hubspot? : )

Hi @MEllis3,

The simplest way would be to do so through a custom multiple checkboxes property: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/properties/create-and-edit-properties

Once created, you can edit values individually, in bulk or via import:

https://knowledge.hubspot.com/records/update-a-property-value-for-a-record

https://knowledge.hubspot.com/records/bulk-edit-records

https://knowledge.hubspot.com/import-and-export/import-objects

If your services have start dates, renewal dates, and more attributes, then custom objects (available only in Enterprise subscriptions) are the way to go: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/object-settings/create-custom-objects

Let me know if you have any follow-up questions!

Here’s a rough setup you could follow:

  • Create a pipeline for your Services with custom properties like service type, cost, delivery status, etc.

  • Associate Services with Companies manually (from the record sidebar) or automatically through workflows (like when a Company hits a certain stage or meets a specific condition).

  • Use custom reports or active lists to segment Companies based on the Services they’re linked to. For example: "Companies associated with Service Name = Service 2."

One thing to watch out for: unless you build your workflows carefully, the associations between Services and

Companies are still pretty manual. Depending on how your services are set up, it might also be worth creating a few extra properties to track details like service-specific pricing.

If you want a deeper look at how teams are setting up post-sale tracking now that HubSpot has a purpose-built Service object, this article breaks it down: Why HubSpot’s new Service object is the best way to manage customer onboarding.

Hey @MEllis3

you can have this a custom property in the Company

or if you are using sales you can see this through Deals with tags or with Products and line items for the different services.

In the future if Services or Contracts need to have their own information, this can become a custom object in HubSpot (need and Enterprise licence).

Hope this helps

Hi! @MEllis3 I agree with @karstenkoehler that the multiple checkbox properties would be the way to go

If there are different costs or details associated with each of these services, they can be connected via workflow when an object has this selected
