Associate a Custom Object to Contacts without an email

lösung

I am in the real estate space, and I created a custom object for the homeowners houses, "Property" (not to get confused with data field "properties"). A lot of the times I don't have an email associated with a contact (property owner), until we set a meeting. How can I upload a list(s) of the "Contact" and "Property" (House Cutom Object) and be able to associate the two? The only shared data point they have is the street address.

Hi @TylerSoCal

Great to meet you. My name is Olivia and I an ex-HubSpotter turned HubSpot expert for Baskey the agency. Happy to help here!

If the contacts already exist in HubSpot then you will firstly need to export the contacts. This will give you a file with their contact ID in the first column.

We then need a common field that is shared between the objects. Street address is perfect for this.

Sheet 1:
- Contacts with their ID in column one and their street address in column 2 (or any other column if you are importing lots of contact info)

Sheet 2:
- Property information with the same street address as their associated contact.

You will then need to import the two files as associated files with a shared column by following the import steps here for 'Multiple object or activity import in two files'.

You will select 'contact ID' as the unique identifier for contacts during the import process.

I hope this helps!

If you have any further trouble please let me know. It can be tricky but what you want to achieve is completely doable 🙂
