Archiving Historic Deal Stages

I am looking to clean up our pipeline and remove all deals associated with the year 2023. If I delete this deal stage will the data be removed with it? Or can it be archived?

Hi @RBroere,

Deal stages cannot be removed as long as there are still deals in a stage. You would first have to delete the deal records within a stage before you can delete the stage.

Generally, most companies keep historic deal records to have a full picture and context of the customers and also historic sales performance. I would consider this best practices. If these deals bother you in the user interface, it's best to simply create filtered views to hide them: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/records/filter-records-and-save-views#filter-records-and-save-views

Also just to clarify, you have a deal stage named "2023"?

What you describe is best achieved by using filters and simply filtering out deals that closed in 2023.
