Approval process only for specific quotes

SOLVE

Hi, 

 

is it possible to create an approval process only for specific users, who create a quote? Lets say you have beginners and want to approve every quote they create but on the other hand you have professionals who a specialist creating quotes and don't need approval. Can the approval process depend on user creating the quote? 

 

Furthermore does the approver need an Enterprise license or can he/she approve also with a free licence?

Hello @JenniferM,

 

The approval feature is all or nothing – when turned on, approval is required on every new quote that's created.

 

As far as I know, this should work for any user as an approver, they don't have to have a paid seat.

Interesting. I'll try to follow your workflow. In the meantime, we have disabled Quote approvals, as salespersons and managers found it too limiting.

Hi Karsten,

 

Came across this thread, as I am looking for a workaround. Can you detail how this 'hack' can be done? I need only certain quotes to have approvals.

Thanks for confirming, @Stenbaek, I had played around with that too. As is often the case this probably introduces some margin of error but it's odd that HubSpot would highlight the fact this will require approval on all quotes so much in the documentation.

 

@JenniferM, let me know if you want to explore this hacky option.

That is not completely correct @karstenkoehler, when enabling quote approval HS is creating 3 workflows where it is possible to build in the logic of when an approval is needed. It is a hack but I have managed to get it to work in the past 🙂
