Adding default fees to quotes
resolver
Hey @MStevens11 I don't believe you can directly set a default fee that automatically appears in every quote template, you can implement a workaround using custom properties and quote templates.
Here’s a general approach:
Create a Custom Property: Set up a custom property in your HubSpot account for the default fee. This will allow you to manage it easily.
Use Quote Templates: When creating your quote template, you can include a line item that references this custom property. You can set it to automatically include the default fee.
Adjust in Each Quote: When generating a new quote from the template, the default fee will appear. You can then manually remove it if needed.

I'm with hapily, a HubSpot App Partner, and we have built a quoting tool, quote•hapily, for HubSpot that allows you to set rules such as automatically applying One-Time Fees. You can use the Quote's "Template Type" as condition to apply this rule. Quote•hapily alos supports using other information from the quote, line items, deal, and/or associated records to apply these rules.
Below is an example of the rule setup for automaticlly applying One-Time Fees:
Once you have created and activated your rule, the One-Time Fee will be automatically applied when creating a quote via the quote•hapily rule builder:
Also, I can see that this idea "Calculated properties for Products" is in planning, so that's great news! I'd recommend following this idea so that you get notifications when updates are made!
I hope this helps!
Have a lovely day!

1. Is this custom property a calculated property that is amount * whatever % you want for the fee?
2. How do you include a line item in the quote template? I am able to adjust my line items columns shown but nowhere do I see the ability to add a default line item nor reference a custom property with a line item.
Hey @MStevens11 Yes, you can set up a custom property as a calculated property that reflects the fee based on an amount multiplied by a percentage. This way, it will dynamically adjust based on the values you enter.
To include a default line item in a quote template, you typically need to add it manually each time you create a quote. Unfortunately, I don't believe HubSpot currently allows you to set default line items in the same way as custom properties.
I am still confused, how would this work as a custom property? You are saying include a line item that references the default fee custom property, but you are also saying I can't set default line items the same way as custom properties. So is this not possible at all to have something default into a quote template?
Hi @MStevens11 and welcome to the Community! We are so glad to have you here!
Great question, thanks for asking!
@DvinM thanks for your help and for suggesting a workaround.
Have you been able to test these steps yourself? What was the outcome?
Thank you and have a great day!
