Adding Company to Deals

When I used to create a deal it would automatically associate a contact with the deal if they were associated with the company the deal was for. That is no longer happening, any ideas?

I am 99% sure that automatic contact or company association to a deal is not a HubSpot default, unless your portal has some workflows running in the background. How exactly are deals being created?

I always advise users to create deals from a contact record for the simple reason that this means:

1. The contact gets asscociated and
2. The contact's associated company gets pre-populated

If you are not seeing these promptes when creating new deals you need to edit your deal create form.

Hi @MStevens11! Just to clarify, I have a few questions: 

• Do your user see an option to add associated Companies when creating a Deal from a Contact record? 
• Do they see any error or notification when they try to add it manually?
• Does this happen on every Contact for every user? 

This sounds like it could be a Company object permission restriction, so I might verify they have access to edit the Companies they are trying to associate.
