Adding Additional Info to Data Collected Through Site Form using URL

SOLVE

Hello,

I use the Hubspot collect data through site feature to monitor user login on my website and if they're a new user they're added to my contacts. We essentially have two user types who login or register on two different URLs with unique and relevant meta tags.

I would therefore like to segment the users based on the page that they used to login/register so that they can then be added to relevant lists etc. I have created a "Type" property to enable me to do this and was wondering if there was a way of auto-populating this property based on a condition such as URL or H1?

Thank you very much in advance.

Nicky

Ah - I was thinking about suggesting a Zap but wasn't sure if you could incur further costs (or keep your tech stack low). Glad you found a workaround!

Hey Nicky!

You may be able to creatively use some of the Web analytics history fields on the Contact record to help you achieve this, alongside Workflows or Lists. If I were you, I would take a list at some users (where you know their origination) and check to see if you could use the fields First page Seen, Original Source, Original Source DrillDown etc. to see if you can see any correlations as a first step. If you do, and have workflows enabled, you could easily apply a tag on the record based off that!

Let me know if these work, and if not we can continue trying something else!

All the best,
Grant

Hey Grant,

Thank you for getting back to me. Unfortunately I'm not able to do that as I'm currently only on the free option. I'm hoping to upgrade once I get enough value from the platform. In my head it seems like a quick and easy thing to do as the notifications I get from hubspot have the segmented information within them but perhaps there is no easy workaround.

Thanks

Nicky

You may be able to creatively use Contact views with that website information (ex. DrillDown 1 contains www.example.com) and manually apply a tag to them, or use an active list to categorize them as well.

Best of luck!
