Activity from contact not syncing to associated deal

I'm not sure what might be wrong.
I have a contact associated with a deal. and have sent them e-mails logging and tracking with the HubSpot extension.
The contact pulls all the activity perfectly, all the e-mails, etc.
The deal is not pulling any of that activity and shows no activity at all. Is there any way to manually (and automatically) push all the contact activity into the deal?
Theoretically, this should be working automatically.
If a call, one-to-one email, meeting, note, task, postal mail, LinkedIn, SMS, or WhatsApp message is first logged on a contact record, it will be automatically associated with the contact’s primary company and the five most recent associated open deals (i.e., deals that are not in closed-won or closed-lost deal stages).
Is the deal one of the most recent five open ones?
