Switching out blog templates whilst site is live

Whats the best method of staging or applying a new template to a blog?
We have a situation where we need to keep all the slugs & meta data the same but change the template. This causes all the module data to go for each blog article. We need to then replace all the content, which is fine..

I just don't want to change the template and suddenly all the articles have no content whilst being live until I put all the content back in.

anyone got a good method of keeping all the old stuff live until we're ready with the new stuff?

Hi @SandyG1, 

since there is no way to stage a blog (up to now) - the only thing that you could do is create a new blog and apply the new template to it and set it to "noindex,nofollow". After you've migrated all the posts you can switch the link(s) in your navigation(s) and change the urls of the blogs. 

For example: 

Your current blog runs on https://yourdomain.com/blog
you create a new blog on https://yourdomain.com/new-blog

When finished you go to the blog settings and change it as follows:

current/old blog: https://yourdomain.com/old-blog

new blog: https://yourdomain.com/blog

HubSpot will create redirects for every domain change so you could/shoud clean that up after switching the blogs
