Smart Rules on a Section Level

Can I apply Smart Rules to update content on the layouts > section level instead of only the modules or sections > custom module level?

If not, has anyone taken the various layout > sections and created custom sections > custom section modules just to to have the ability to add Smart Rules for those sections?

Hi @cpetrou 

You can set smart rules on modules inside of a section and if you save that section, the rules you have set on the modules will carry over into that section.

When you go to add your saved section to another page, you will see a "Smart" tag indicating that there are smart rules present within a section.
