The smart content in multiple email templates is not working when we send test emails from our dev portal. We have multiple production portals in which this works just fine, but it seems to consistently fail in our dev portal (when tested this week).
It's not always practical to allow the addition of smart content in the content editors, so we build complex smart content into templates. Makes it easier for customers to deliver highly targeted content to their segmented lists.
Q: Is testing smart content (in email templates) not permitted in dev portals?
Here's the test setup:
Two (2) Smart Lists with at least one contact in each.
- Coffee Lovers - Short Macchiatto and Coffee Lovers - Expresso (Short Black)
One (1) Email Template with smart content built-in.
Sonata dev20180510-del (see image)
Multiple Emails (1 using this template).

No worries @roisinkirby. Rebecca already has a ticket on this (#1070355), so the product team are digging as well.
Just clearer to document here so we can see the full scope and evolution of a solution.
