Permission Error

Good Morning Community,

One of our users is receiving the following issue when trying to see how their API is working.

{"status":"error","message":"This hapikey (####################) does not have proper permissions! (requires any of [email-access])","correlationId":"#################","requestId":"######################"}

I removed the numbers for privacy; however, whatever information I can provide, I will be happy to assist.

Thanks!

Hi @lildobber,

Which API are you trying to leverage? Indeed, if you have a CRM only portal, the issue might be that you are trying to use an API for a tool that is not included at your subscription level.

In addition, the best place to post API questions is actually our Developers forum, at integrate.hubspot.com. This forum is populated by developers who would be more apt at answering this range of questions.

Good Morning,

Thank you for that information, I'll be sure to place future questions there. They currently have the "Marketing" account. The API they want to use is this one: https://developers.hubspot.com/docs/overview

Thank you,

Zach

Hi @lildobber, thanks for your reply! So the link you provided was a link to the generl API documentation, I was wondering whether they were trying to use an API in particular (for instance, the Workflows API: https://developers.hubspot.com/docs/methods/workflows/v3/get_workflows)

However, there are a few threads pertaining to permission errors on the developers forum:

https://integrate.hubspot.com/t/no-proper-permissions/2188

https://integrate.hubspot.com/t/auth-error-when-pulling-all-deals/3501

I would check out some of those threads and try out the solutions outlined in them. If the user still runs into trouble, you can have them post on the forum, specifying the request they are making and someone should be able to help out!
