Our site's Favicon is showing with a black shadow/background on Google search

Hi everyone!

I'm having an issue with my favicon. In Google searches, it appears with a black shadow and looks like a black square. I'm certain it has a transparent background, and I initially had it as a .png image. I’ve already changed it to a 32x32 .ico format, but the problem persists. However, the favicon does display correctly in Google tabs; the issue is only in Google search results.

I'm not sure if this is a HubSpot or Google issue. If anyone could help or let me know what to do, I would really appreciate it!

Ah! This sounds like you're experiencing a frustrating issue, this might help -

1. Ensure it's a .ico file, 32x32 pixels, and has a transparent background.

2. Clear your browser cache and use Google Search Console to re-index your site.

3. Ensure the correct favicon meta tag is in your HTML.

4. Make sure no CSS is affecting the favicon’s display.

If the issue persists, it might resolve on its own as Google updates.
