Organizing tips for file, templates, images ect

SOLVE

We are just starting to rebuild our website from scratch using HubSpot. Would you be willing to share your recommendations and tips on file structure?

We purchased the Althena template package from HubSpot. Do you clone and rename the templates as they are being used? Or use them as is, with the current naming convention? Is this really worth the bother since the name is also on all the global content, custom modules and coded files?

What about the File Manager are you creating web page, image, blog, logo ect... folders. Or should the items sit at the parent level?

We would appreciate any tips, advice, pros and cons you have experienced building your web sites.

If there is information that outlines the best practices on structure with Hubspot example tutorials, help page ext. I don't mind reviewing this, in my initial searching through the information, I didn't seem to run across anything just yet.

Thank you in advance,

Tracy

File organization is critical. For simplicity, I always recommend that you keep the template names the same (though it's not required).

The challenge that have to really overcome is helping your marketers know what templates they can use and how they work. While I don't know how this particular template is set up, most themes from the marketplace contain far more templates than you will ever reasonably use. Make sure you unpublish the templates you don't need as well as all the defaults that come with your portal (maybe even delete them). This way they are not visible when your marketers are trying to work on them.

For your files in the file manager, you'll have to come up with a structure that makes sense for you... but do it now. Can't change it easily later.

I'm happy to get on a zoom conference with you for a few minutes to walk you through some of this things. Just drop me a note.
