Inventory Search Feature

We are a contract manufacturer with a surplus of parts.  We want to provide a search feature for customers, etc. to look for a specific manufacturer's part number and quantity on hand using an existing database.  Possibility of connecting more than one database down the road.

Is there a third-party app already out there?  I don't want to reinvent the wheel here.

If not, am I in the right place HubDB and Custom Objects in CMS Hub?
