Inserting ads.txt file for Google AdSense

resolver

Hey All,

Wondering if you all can help. We've built a website CMS Hub on a template. I've put the AdSense codes on the global header and it's prompting me to insert ads.txt file on the root level domain.

I'm guessing would need to set up a URL redirect, but ... how do I actually go about this in CMS Hub? Bonus points if you can step through it one by one on how I can add the ads.txt file for AdSense to work.

Hello @Phienbelle

Yes, you can definitely set up a URL redirect to achieve this. Here are some steps along with a screenshot. Just make sure to replace YOURWEBSITE with your domain.

Step 1. Upload your ads.txt file to the file manager.

Step 2. In your settings on the top right navigate to Domains & URLs and click on the URL Redirects tab.

Step 3. Click Add URL Redriect

Step 4. Fill out your Original URL and Redirect to  they should be
Redirect to: www.YOURWEBSITENAME.com/hubfs/ads.txt
Original URL: www.YOURWEBSITENAME.com/ads.txt

Step 5. Make Sure Redirect Style is set to Proxy

Hi @jonchim

Thanks for the clear explanation!

Is it possible that this isn't an option if you have the free HubSpot CMS Hub?

I can see the option 'URL redirects' in client accounts with a paid hub, but not in my free account.

Is there any other option to setup Google AdSense in a free HubSpot CMS Hub? I already added the AdSense code snippet in my head tags, which verified site ownership. But it also needs an ads.text file to get approved and be able to show ads.

Yes, there is! You can sign up for a free trail on marketing pro. During the trail period, redirects functionality works. Just did it myself after doing research. Just Google for HubSpot free trail to enroll for 14 days.
