I would like to build an app (fort he marketplace) for uploading images which show up in the File Manager. I would like this app to be available to people who use the Marketing->Landing Pages as well as the CMS. I really just want a way of displaying a page for my application, and then I can use the API's to do the rest. Eventually I would like to have a context button when a user clicks on a file in File Manager which gives the option to execute an action from my app.  Basically I just want to convert all images uploaded to webp, and also provide an inline method of converting existing images. The CMS developer tutorials all seem to be geared towards creating themes/templates/etc.  The API docs seems geared towards simply using the API. I can't seem to find a document on building an app which integrates into hubspot as a tool similar to what I explained above. I have a good handle on what I need to do for the functionality of my app, but just can't seem to figure out the jumping off point for building an app with UX integrated into hubspot.

Yeah what I have here which we are currently just using internally has solved  lot of problems. You set the widths you want for the t-shirt sizes: 'small', 'article content', and 'header'. Then all file uploads (via drog/drop) must have a new name (to keep things organized) and to a t-shirt size. Before images are uploaded they are resized and converted to webp. Also adding a feature to do it for existing images already on hubspot.

Just having trouble turning that into a marketplace application so others can use it.

I'm actually still looking for a tool....mind sharing what you use internally by any chance?

The first thing you'll want to do is apply for a Developer Account. Then you'll get some more resources to be able to get started.

Find it here: https://developers.hubspot.com/get-started

I already have a developer account, and have created an app. I have used the Hubspot API a number times in the past, but always just for one off scripts that we needed.

I know I could just build an app that lives entirely on my server, connects to a companies HubSpot instance via oAuth, and they just access all functionality off my my server. I was hoping there was a way to make it appear as part of the company's hubspot instance. Is that possible? I don't really see any examples of that.

Maybe it is just easiest to make it a standalone application that authorizes against HS.

Ahhh sorry I misunderstood! However, I think this one is above my pay grade 😂

This is definitely needed though. I work mainly on Windows and I have yet to find an image converter and/or optimizer that I like and works well. It would be awesome if there was an app that could solve this issue integrated into HubSpot!
