How to pass images into custom modules called via HubL?

I have a standard header (a group of custom modules) that I am including on a few blog templates and would like to set default values on them.

The page editor for a single blog post will let me edit them, but is there a way to set the default values (title and background image, for example) per blog?

Right now I have a custom HubL module that calls the custom modules used in the header, and I'm passing the default values through there. However, it doesn't seem to work when trying to pass an image in. Is there a special image object format you have to use, or can I include an image src attribute?

Can you give an example chunk of your HubL code (everyone references their setups with different verbiage, but the HubL speaks for itself!).

I think I know what you're trying to do but it would help to SEE something to help you with 😉

Sorry, I did not see your reply. I have worked around it by making a couple separate templates that each pass an override background url as a text field.
