How to create a unique layout for Blog Author Pages?

I would like to create a unique layout for my blog author pages.

Right now it just uses the same template as the one I am using for my blog listings page, with a filter that only shows posts by that one author.

Is there any way to use a separate template for these "author" pages?

FYI - we only use HTML template files, we do not use the WYSIWYG modular builder in the design manager.

Any help is greatly appreciated...

to my knowledge, there is no way to separate the author page into its own template.  

you can do your modifications in the {% if blog_author %} section

@dennisedson Is correct here, There is currently not a way to have a seperate template for just the author content. We create this section of the blog dynamically. You can however use the below HubL that Dennis added to add additional markup into the blog template and then add a CSS Class specific to the author page to set custom styles for just the author page if you would like.
