Deleted a published page

SOLVE

Hi all,

Free user here, was starting to dable here to see if this could be the platform for new small business. Have used years ago, but not the CMS.

So i connected my new domain, and played around with content creation here. Now my page (www.example.com) seems to be published by accident, and i deleted the page in hubspot CMS, so i dont see it in hubspot anymore. Cant publish anything new in this URL (www.example.com) , it says its allready in use. I can publish in other URLs like www.example.com/newpage

and so on. How do i get this working again , so i can publish for my front page www.example.com again?  Now its a pure lorem ipsum mess.

Chatted to support, but it was sales support and they didnt know that to do and guided to write here. (and seems that free users dont get any tech support)

Hi @JWave,

I think you are facing an issue where you accidentally published a page on your domain, deleted it, and now cannot publish new content to the same URL.

This issue actually happens as the domain still holds the previous page's reference in HubSpot's CMS system, even though you've deleted the page.

Do this -

1. Restore the deleted page if present.

2. Access Content Staging and remove any references to www.example.com.

3. Ensure the old page is cleared then publish the new page at www.example.com.

4. Ensure no ghost references remain.

5. Clear browser and DNS cache.

6. Request assistance if the issue persists.

I hope this helps, if you need further assistance, let's talk!

Hi @JWave,

Deleting a page usually clears the cache and frees the used URL path.

Can you confirm if the page was perhaps archived instead?

To be sure, you can try opening Website/Landing Pages > "Publish Status" filter > enable the "Archived" boolean.

From there, you have the option to either restore the page or permanently delete it, freeing the URL path for reuse.

Best regards,

Abraham @ GiantFocal
