Creating A Splash Page for A Website Homepage

I'm curious if anyone has successfully built and deployed a splash page on the home page of your website.  If so, could you provide details of how that may have been accomplished?

I've seen it done with https://sumo.com/app/welcome-mat but I've not implemented anything like it in HubSpot natively.
