Chat on specific pages

hey guys, we are trying to have the chat feature only be on the homepage to our website. When it is on the other pages it is blocking crucial information in the ordering funnel. We tried to edit the target page to homepage but it seems to not be working, and it could be because of how the site is developed. Any insight?

"Hmm, I think it has something to do with how your site is loading the secondary pages. If you go to the home page the chat will be there as expected but it stays there as you move pages, but if you are on a page that isnt the home page and refresh the chat doesnt load, as expected"

Chat on specific pages

Hey, @vperrina 👋 Thanks for reaching out. Can you provide any additional details? Adding details such as:

  • a link to a live example
  • clarifying what you mean by “it could be because of how the site is developed”. Is your page or site a Single Page Application, for example?
  • How are you setting where the chat is displayed? In-app? Or via the Conversations SDK?
  • If it's via the SDK, please note this documentation —
    widget.refresh

“Refresh and re-render the widget's information, given the current page URL.

If you house the chat widget on a single-page application, this method can be useful for refreshing the widget on route changes. This allows you to specify different chatflows on different page routes. If widget.refresh is called on a route where there is no chatflow, and the user isn't engaged in a conversation, the widget will be removed.

Thank you! — Jaycee
