Changing a Primary domain to a different subdomain
SOLVE
Our website it not Hubspot hosted but we have a subdomain - event.apexx.global - set up for Landing pages under the Primary domains.
We've realised that we'd want to have other type of content on Landing pages also (like case studies and such). So the event subdomain should be replaced by insights.apexx.global.
How can I do this change in the most painless way?
The difficulty I see is that I can't create a second Primary domain for Landing Pages, so I can't seem to migrate the content over to a new one.
Would I be able to somehow just rename the domain from event to insights? (and then probably set up redirects)
Or is the only way to do this is to create a Secondary Landing page domain as a placeholder. Migrate the content over there. Delete the original event subdomain and then create the insights subdomain as Primary and migrate the content there from the placeholder?
What you can try is connect insights.apexx.global as a secondary domain, then in the "Actions" dropdown for event.apexx.global select "Replace primary domain", which will allow selecting the new secondary domain you connected.
If I recall correctly, all of your pages should get their URLs updated to the new primary domain automatically.
You can then choose to keep that original domain as secondary or set it up as a redirect domain, or disconnect entirely.
