We're using a CMP, called tarteaucitron, for all our cookies. When people refuse cookies, then the Hubspot tracking code is not fired. But we'd like visitors to still be able to chat with us. Is it possible to refuse cookies and fire the chat ?
Yes, this should be possible, but this requires some manual work. If the tracking script is not loaded whenever a user does not accept the cookies, you can not trigger the chat. However, the HubSpot tracking script places both tracking and functional cookies. If you keep the functional cookies, the chat should work. You could use the cookie banner API to only set the functional cookies. We used the _hsq.push(['doNotTrack']); function in the past, but you have to check if that is still a valid option.
