Can't switch to a new template

Hi does anyone experienced this issue:

The site has a pages already and the goal was just to switch it over to the new theme and keep all contents from the pages.

However we cannot select the new theme when we try to switch template.

The image below shows after selecting the theme, there's no template to select from.

While on creating a page, templates shows up after clicking the theme

Would really appreciate any help

Hi @exitdump ,

You can be following things while creating a page:-
If you have created the custom theme then please select your theme http://i.prntscr.com/qxz5E9dIRKaXPq7RYr1P1w.png
If you are using the custom template please check your template name and template label are the same or different if it is wrong then please make it the same name.

Confirmed that this is working as designed (and is known and being worked on)

This is the response:

if it's a Layout template (DND block editor in the design manager) they can swap to a theme template, if it's a coded file without a DND area in the page editor, they cannot
