webflow to hubspot

Hello, good evening! The company I work for wants to migrate its website from Webflow to Hubspot to have everything integrated in one platform. How do I do this? Is there any advantage to having the website integrated with Hubspot? Does it offer any other website analytics?

There are advantages and disadvantages to each. If having one single bill on one platform is the only reason, then I would say you are moving for the wrong reasons.

To start, you are likely still to maintain a third party analytics application like Google Analytics as it is far more robust than the default Hubspot web analytics.

But the bigger questions to start asking are:

  • Why isn't webflow working for you? Are you lacking expertise? Missing functionality? Struggling with an integration into Hubspot?
  • If you move to Hubspot, do you have expertise to re-code your website to their CMS? Have you researched this expense with a Hubspot partner?

Once you start with those questions and understand the bigger picture then you are ready to start diving into the details about whether a move to Hubspot CMS is right for you.

Hey @FGuimaraes

having everything in one place is - from my experience - the best thing you can do.

Migrating the website from one system to another(in this case HubSpot) is often a process that can take a while.
Here are my migration steps:

  1. Prepare a URL-list of existing URLs with SEO information(title, meta description...). A tool that is quite helpful for this task is SEO Screaming frog. If you have less than 500 URLs(including images etc) it's free to use. Also - there are a lot other tools out there in the world-wide-web
  2. Define it should be a 1-to-1 migration or include an optimization/modernization.
    1. A 1-to-1 migration can take more time since you have to rebuild the modules, design, everything
    2. An optimization fits best, if your website feels outdated and kinda bloated with elements you might not want to move over to the new system/website
  3. Map your content. If you decide to optimize you should create a document to keep track of everything. For instance: You can create a doc for every single page you have (excluding blogs) and write things like
    • Hero:
    • First paragraph:
      • Headline: Ipsum dolor
      • Headline tag: h2
      • Paragraph: Lorem ipsum....
    • ...
  4. Look for a good base. HubSpot websites are utilizing so-called themes. Themes are the foundation of your website, the functionalities and the design. You have 4 ways you can go:
    1. Use an existing theme. HubSpot comes with at least one theme pre-installed. This theme is called "Growth". It's a highly flexible theme which is great to get started with HubSpot bwebiste uilding experience. It's also build upon the official HubSpot CMS Boilerplate.
    2. Download/Buy a theme from the marketplace. HubSpot has it's own marketplace which has a wide variaty of themes and modules. Some are free, some are paid. From my experience, most free themes will get the job done until you're looking for better things. Paid themes are a great invest since most of them have whole teams/companies behind them, who are just creating this theme. Most paid themes are far more advanced and better optimized than free ones.
    3. Build your own theme with the boilerplate. Since the HubSpot CMS Boilerplate is free and "open source" it's a very common thing to use it as foundation for your own custom theme.
    4. Start from scratch. This is by far the most advanced undertaking, which will take the most amount of time but since you're starting with "a blank paper" you can do everything exactly like you need it. This option should be considered only if you have devs who are on the advanced side of HubSpot knowledge - or you can hire a dev(if you need one, drop me a DM)
  5. Once you've decided which theme you want, create a child-theme of it. Child-themes are great because you can modify them without messing up the original theme. Also - it's the only way how you can modify the Growth or marketplace themes(besides the provided theme settings).
  6. Set up a brand-kit. If you haven't already, set up a brand-kit. A brand-kit contains your logo(s), colors and you can select the theme you'd like to use for this brand(very helpful if you plan to rebuild a big, multi-brands page/evironment)
  7. Style the child-theme. Once the child-theme is created head over to the theme settings, that are located here:
settings(gear icon in the top right corner) -> Content -> Themes -> YOUR THEME
Apply all the styling you like(this can be done/changed anytime)
  8. Start rebuilding the pages. Unless you have your domain connected, all pages will be available on a system-domain that looks like http://123456789.hs-sites-eu1.com/ .
  9. If you have a blog which you'd like to transfer to HubSpot - there's an auto importing option for this. Can save some time
  10. After you've created the pages, the navigation and everything is ready to launch, connect the domain with your portal. The domain connect can take some time(up to 48/72 hours depending on your domain hosting service). Once the domain is connected, set it as the primary domain in the domain settings.
  11. Once the domain is connected, check every page, form, workflow - simply everything
  12. Done

As for benefits:

  • You can utilize CRM Data to build a more immersive website experience for your visitors. This feature is called smart-content.
  • Hubl is an extremly powerful language which allows you to create custom solutions with ease compared to other CMS.
  • The extendability is almost limitless. Almost everything you can imagine could be rebuild/implemented in HubSpot. A few features might be restricted to the HubSpot tier you have, but for most websites Professional suite is the way to go.
  • Having everything in one place is a time and cost saver. Also a great plus for productivity and efficiency.

For example - my website that I'm currently building is build completly on HubSpot Content Hub. It's a so-called launchpad and many features like blog, downloads etc. will be launching in the next couple of days, but you can check it out here: https://graphispot.com

Also - if you're looking for a designer&developer who could help you migrating to HubSpot, I'll be happy to chat. Simply drop me a DM

Hope this helps,

best,

Anton

To migrate your website from Webflow to HubSpot, you'll need to export your Webflow content (HTML, CSS, images) and import it into HubSpot's CMS. HubSpot also offers a migration tool, or you can work with a HubSpot solutions partner if you prefer expert assistance.

The advantages of integrating with HubSpot include seamless CRM, email marketing, and automation integration, plus powerful inbound marketing tools. HubSpot also provides advanced website analytics, allowing you to track visitors, analyze traffic sources, monitor user behavior, and much more, helping you optimize your content and strategy effectively.

Hi @FGuimaraes ,

I get it, you have many questions but migrating and integrating your website to HubSpot might be beneficial, totally depends on your business, but just putting my experience out there.

Let's look at your queries,

The advantages are endless, but I am going to mention a few of them here.

1. You can manage your website, marketing, sales, and customer service in one place

2. You can learn more about visitor behavior, campaign performance, and customer journeys.

3. My personal favorite, using the CRM data to personalise website content, improving user experience which directly affects the conversion rates.

4. Plus, you can integrate marketing tools for email campaigns, social media marketing, and more.

5. You can track and convert leads using HubSpot’s integrated CRM and sales tools.

As for doing this, that's a step that should be discussed and then implemented.

I hope this helps to clear your doubt and in case you need help to do this and need more answers, let's talk.
