Subdomain Connection Issue: HubSpot & Cloudflare DNS Records Not Verifying

SOLVE

HubSpot Wizards, I'm counting on you !

I’m facing an issue connecting my subdomain to HubSpot via Cloudflare DNS, and I would really appreciate your guidance.

Here’s what I’ve done so far:

  1. I’m using Cloudflare to manage DNS for my domain (registered on GoDaddy).
  2. I’ve chosen a subdomain to host all HubSpot content types.
  3. I added the CNAME record provided by HubSpot into Cloudflare.
  4. I’ve tried both Proxied (orange cloud) and DNS Only (gray cloud) modes for the record in Cloudflare.
  5. I waited for DNS propagation and tested it using tools like DNS Checker, which shows the record exists and is pointing correctly.

Despite this, HubSpot shows the error:
“Record not found. Missing record in your DNS.”

Subdomain Connection Issue: HubSpot & Cloudflare DNS Records Not Verifying

SOLVE

@AHussain1 every time you make a change to the DNS, it could take 24-48 hours to push across to HubSpot. So if you setup the orange cloud and changed to gray cloud within that time period, both of those changes are in the queue to reach HubSpot.

Since you're using a subdomain that is unique for HubSpot (not used somewhere else) I would stick with gray cloud, DNS only, you shouldn't need to use proxied for this type of configuration.

And then, slow down and wait - even though it's improved, DNS propagation isn't instantaneous, give it time before you make more changes.
