Stylize Numbered Lists

I am very beginner to but understand how stylesheets work and all that. I am looking to create/update the default style on our numbered lists to look way more modern. 

Does anyone have a video or walkthrough of how to accomplish this the most effective and efficient way? I started down a path of applying HTML styling in all the different areas and that just seems messy and hard to keep up with.

CSS Tricks has a good, simple article on styling number lists. You'll want to add the CSS you write to your website's main stylesheet in the Design Manager.
