Seeking advice on integrating client website with HubSpot

SOLVE

I am currently working on integrating my client's website with HubSpot and I could use some advice. My client is looking to use HubSpot for marketing automation, CRM, and website analytics. I have gone through the HubSpot documentation and tutorials, but I still have some questions.

Firstly, what is the best way to integrate a website with HubSpot? I have looked into using the HubSpot tracking code and embedding forms on the website, but are there any other methods that I should consider?

Secondly, what are some common pitfalls or mistakes to avoid when integrating a website with HubSpot? Are there any best practices that I should follow?

Lastly, are there any third-party tools or plugins that can help with website integration in HubSpot?

Hey @LKeith3 you're absolutely right about the tracking code and forms. HubSpot launches most of it's tools through the tracking code so things like live chat, analytics, cookie tracking, pop-up forms and more only require the tracking code to be installed on that page!

Once you have the tracking code on the page it'll drop a tracking cookie on the visitors browser, when they fill out a HubSpot form this associates that cookie with the contact record and information they've submit on HubSpot forms so it'll give you a full breakdown of their page views and any submit or logged information.
I'd definitely advise replacing your forms with HubSpot forms as these are the primary "capture" tool within HubSpot and make all the associations between the visitor and the contact record in the CRM.

Some commong pitfalls that I generally see are not correctly adding the HubSpot tracking code, you need to ensure it's in the head HTML of all your pages and not within an iframe (as some CMS' automatically do). I'd also advise using HubSpot forms over the Non-HubSpot forms tool as it gives far greater control and consistency.

If you're using wordpress, installing the HubSpot wordpress plugin is the best way to integrate your website into HubSpot, it installs the tracking code automatically. For third party tools though it really depends on your CMS', a lot of common CMS' have integrations built (just googling my CMS + HubSpot integration will bring up quick results). But realistically it's no big deal if there's no integration, all you need to do is copy and pase your tracking code into the head HTML of all your pages and ensure domain tracking is setup then HubSpot takes care of everything else!
You should then work on replacing the existing forms with HubSpot ones, in the interim non-HubSpot forms can help quickly start getting submissions into your CRM but I always advise clients to switch to HubSpot f orms or an integration in the long term.

Ditto to what @TomM2 says here @LKeith3. Integrating a website (whether it's WordPress, Wix, SquareSpace or Other) really comes down to the analytics code and forms. Then in HubSpot, depending on your client's Hub, you may use landing pages and the blog tool. That's just a matter of connecting those URLs to the site through links in CTAs, text, or menu items.

Lots of folks here in community have done this, so definitely keep coming back with questions if you have them. Cheers!
