Need Help Resolving 404 Error on My Published Website

SOLVE

Hi everyone,

I’m having trouble getting my website, bottwealthadvisors.com, to work properly. When I enter the URL, I get a 404 error, but interestingly, I can see my logo but I get the 404 error. This suggests that something might be misconfigured rather than the site being completely unpublished but I know nothing about this.

I’m not sure if this is a DNS issue, a publishing error, or something else entirely. I’d really appreciate any advice or troubleshooting tips to resolve this.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Need Help Resolving 404 Error on My Published Website

you're welcome @MBott5 - happy to help figure out what else it could be.

I took a look at your sitemap, your blog is connected and uses the "blog" as the blog slug so it is not using the root domain directly.

If you made changes to the language settings, the blog, or the home page slug, it's possible that it's a cache issue and the server hasn't resolved your changes yet.

Can you share screenshots of your settings? That'll be the easiest way to check if there's a discrepancy somewhere.

The domain settings, language settings, and home page settings - also verifying you've published the home page.

One other thing if you changed language settings or any of the slugs after publishing, you can completely unpublish the home page, change the home page slug to "jennifer" or some other word, publish it, verify it is live - wait another minute, then follow the same steps (unpublish, remove jennifer so it's blank, publish again, verify).

@MBott5 the DNS is properly connected, that's why you're getting a 404 error and not a server error.

There are a couple things to check, which have been posted a few times in the community:

check your language settings

check your content slug for the home page and blog slug

Let me know if you have questions about the steps included or if they don't resolve the issue.

Thank you for the reply. I tried both suggestions but it doesn't not appear either was successful.  Do you have any other ideas?

One thing I notice is that when I go to the sitemap section it lists both the home page and Bott Wealth Advisors blog. When I click either one of those it takes me to the same page as if I typed in bottwealthadvisors.com, showing me the 404 error.  Is it possible there is some conflict there?
