Migrating from a HubSpot Portal to a HubSpot Portal
SOLVE
Hello,
One of our clients has an enterprise account with various websites/companies managed from it. They are selling one of its companies, which means, the buyer will keep the existing account and we need to set up a new hubspot portal and migrate one of its websites to a brand new portal.
One would think this can be done internally in HubSpot, but it turns out that this is an uncommon situation.
So this is what we are against:
We will need to migrate a COS websiteto a new hubspot account.
This entails * Moving Templates from portal A to portal B within hubspot - Easy as copy/paste within portals * Migrating 550 blog pages and its content - one would think this would be easy from HubSpot's point of view, but apparently not. There is no easy approach to this. * Migrating 47 landing pages and its content * Migrating 140 COS pages * Migrating the CTAs * Migrating the contacts ideally with its history - Contacts migration not that much of an issue, the history and engagement needs to be done via API
So far the solution is a painfully manual solution.
Anyone has come up a similar situation before, how have you solved it, any partner that can help us undertake this?

Q: Anyone has come up a similar situation before, how have you solved it, any partner that can help us undertake this??
Short A: n/a
Longer A:
We've done a couple of these and still manage a HubSpot Staging CRM for one of them, so ... yes ... painfully manual.
Automate the Contact, Company, Deal migration process (with API help). And copying self-contained templates in the new Design Manager is much easier. But most everything else is, as they say, "hand made" in the USA. 🙂

Recognizing that this is an older thread, this post is to announce that there is an app in the HubSpot App Marketplace called the HubSpot to HubSpot Portal Migrator that is available in the HubSpot App Marketplace.
This data migration tool automates to process of migrating data from one HubSpot portal to another. The app uses HubSpot APIs to automatically migrate CRM data from one HubSpot portal to another HubSpot portal.
This automated app is ready to migrate your data with no field mapping required. There is no need to manually create properties. The HubSpot to HubSpot Migrator automatically takes care of everything required for moving your HubSpot data from one portal to another.
This application migrates the following HubSpot data from one HubSpot portal into another:
The HubSpot to HubSpot Migrator is designed to update the data in the destination portal. This eliminates duplicate contacts and minimizes duplicate data.
Use the Migrator to: - Move data from an existing HubSpot portal to a new one - Combines two existing portals into one - Consolidate multiple portals
- Migrate data into a developer portal for testing purposes

We are in the data migration business and we often assist in migrating data for CRM as well as any data we can get our hands on in Marketing including core objects, activity history, all engagements, etc. along with all proper associations.
We consider blogs, templates, landing pages, CTA, etc to be "design" therefore we can not migrate and must be done manually or recreated in your second portal. We've done this for customers before but is not the most fun process.
Anything that is actual data and the APIs allow us to access, we can move through automation.

Migrating from a HubSpot Portal to a HubSpot Portal

Hey @BrightBull I spoke to a member of our technical consultant team here in HubSpot. Here's what he shared:
HubSpot portals aren't designed "migrated" from one to another so there is inevitably going to be a loss of some data. Particularly with `Original Source` property and timeline information as there is no API / means of retrieving or transferring this data. Thus a portal to portal migration is actually an almost entirely manual process. It requires not only that the content be manually rebuilt, but also Workflows, Campaigns, Form Actions, etc.. Though Contacts and Lists can be imported, there's still work around reconfiguring them. All in all, it's a very sizable project that our migration offerings don't begin to address.
I know this is not the answer you were looking for - but in support of @MFrankJohnson' comment it's the most accurate description of what can / can't be done.
