Meta Description Length is Being Cut Off

SOLVE

Hi,

I noticed recently that our metadescriptions are being abridged in Google's SERPs. Which is interesting, because I'm always well within HubSpot's 300-character limit for metadescriptions.

SO it appears that Google has revised its algorithms to only include ~140 characters in the metadescriptions.

FYI for everyone customizing their metadescriptions.

Also, can HubSpot update the word length in the CMS so I can stop checking word counts in Word?

Thanks

Meta Description Length is Being Cut Off

Hi @BrianASCI

Yes, HubSpot was quick to adpat to Google's lengthening of snippets. Google rolled it back, but not fully, leaving HubSpot in a bit of a predicament on meta description length.

Have you checked for any existing posts in the ideas forum for shortening the recommended length?

Regards, Phil.
