Google not indexing blog articles

I seem to have an issue with some of our blog articles being indexed in Google. I have:

• Requested indexing
• Ensured the site map is submitted 
• Checked for no indexing tags

Some of the blogs are indexed so I don't think it can be a template issue. Has anyone else experiened this before?

@Alex_Elborn thanks for the additional details - basically, "Discovered - currently not indexed" means that they know your pages exist, have deemed them to be of lesser importance than other requests and they're in a queue to be indexed...

I don't have any published documentation about this, but having worked on really large accounts and small accounts - websites with the highest domain authority never have to wait to have their pages indexed, while newer websites tend to take a lot longer (sometimes even months).

The good news is that some of your blogs are indexed and there aren't errors, they just haven't gotten to it yet.

What is the status in Google Search Console? Are there any errors?

It's been at least a week since submitting the sitemap and there's no errors against that. The message I'm getting back from Google is Discovered – currently not indexed. I've looked at their documentation on this and it's not particularly helpful

To start with, I'd like to share this article "Prevent content from appearing in search results" so that you can double check on the robots.text file to see if some URLs have been added.

Also, like @Jnix284 suggested, could you please share the following information:

1. How long has it been since you submitted the sitemap and requested indexing?

2. What is the status in Google Search Console? Are there any errors?

The more info, screenshots (without sensitive/confidential information), and details you can provide, the better the Community can assist.

Thanks so much, I have been trying my best to solve the issue, I discovered that this happens to many websites, only homepage or very few of website pages are indexed by Google

Hi @Techy247. I looked around a bit and found that "Google stopped automatically indexing every website as it used to, which means some sites might not appear in search results unless explicitly managed. There have been notable incidents reported of massive deindexing events and slower indexing pace overall, reflecting a shift in how Google processes sites."

Here's a step-by-step to hopefully help:

1. Check robots.txt to ensure pages aren’t blocked from crawling.
2. Verify noindex tags are not unintentionally set on pages.
3. Submit a sitemap in Google Search Console that contains only important URLs.
4. Fix redirect issues especially if there are automatic 307 redirects or inconsistent canonical tags.
5. Ensure internal links and navigation are crawlable by Googlebot without JavaScript blocking.
6. Use Google Search Console's Index Coverage report to identify restrictions, errors, or excluded pages.
7. Request indexing for important pages manually via Search Console after fixes.
8. Consider Google algorithm updates which can affect indexing and ranking temporarily.

It also may depend on where your site is hosted. Your CMS could affect handling of redirects and sitemaps, or changes in Google's indexing practices if they don't keep up with those. Fixing these requires a multi-step diagnostic approach often involving Google Search Console, sitemap optimization, crawlability checks, and removal of unintended noindex directives. 

Hopefully that helps. If not, I'd suggest finding an agency to dig deeper for you.

Thanks @BérangèreL The site is indexed by other search engines by only google, below are some screenshorts from my search console. Only 4 post are apperared on google.
